Campers will dive into animal biology, habitats, and adaptations while exploring ecosystems, food chains, and animal behavior. Through creative builds and interactive challenges, they’ll discover how living things survive and thrive in the natural world.

Campers will journey through science and technology across the past, present, and future. Projects will highlight historical inventions, modern engineering breakthroughs, and imaginative future designs as campers explore how innovation evolves over time.

Please Note
If you need to contact Camp Kooka-Racha, first contact the Camp Lead at 336-937-6088. You may call or text this number. Someone from Camp will get back with you as soon as possible. In case of emergencies, counselors will call 911, then the number you listed as your emergency contact.

Rules of Camp Kooka-Racha

Expected behavior:
- Switching rooms with an adult

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
Arrival & Dismissal Protocol
Safe and organized arrival and dismissal procedures are an important part of each camp day. Our protocols are designed to ensure a smooth transition for campers while prioritizing safety and clear communication with families. By following the established guidelines, we can maintain an efficient process and ensure that every child arrives and departs securely and with care.
Arrival
- Camp opens at 9:00am (unless you registered for before camp care).
- All Campers will enter Camp via the white striped lines (i.e., the “white carpet”) and orange cones at the front of the building.
- Drive your car into the “enter” driveway of Westlawn and stop and the tall double orange traffic cones. The enter driveway is identified with an arrow on the driveway pointing toward the school building.
- Students need to exit the car and walk on the “white carpet” also known as the white stripes on the parking lot near the front door. The drop off location is identified in the diagram below.
- After your child is in the care of a Camp Counselor, exit the parking lot via the “exit” driveway. The exit driveway is identified with an arrow on the driveway pointing toward Country Club Rd. There will be a staff member at the White Carpet. Please do not leave until your child has been greeted by a Camp Counselor.

Dismissal
- All Campers who leave at the end of the Camp day (i.e., 3:00pm); unless they are registered for after camp care.
- Campers will exit Camp via the front door or sidewalk of the school.
- Drive your car into the “enter” driveway of Westlawn. This is identified with an arrow on the driveway pointing toward the school building. Pull your car up to the first empty traffic cone on the driver (right) side of the car.
- Students will exit the school building and walk on the white stripes (or, “white carpet) on the parking lot near the front door.
- After your child is in the car, exit the parking lot via the “exit” driveway. The exit driveway is identified with an arrow on the driveway pointing toward Country Club Rd.
Additional Information
We are so excited to welcome all of our campers, both new and returning, to Camp Kooka Racha. Our team is looking forward to a summer filled with fun, creativity, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
Before & After Camp Care
Before and after camp care is available. Please contact the camp director to register your camper if you are interested in this service.
Drop-Off
The camp day starts at 9:00am. Please drop your camper off at the front of the school building at the “check-in” table. A counselor will greet your camper and help with arrival.
First Day of Camp
On the first day, we will go over rules and expectations, directions and procedures, and start of all our cool projects!
Lunch
All campers need to pack a lunch from home.
Extra Clothes
Please pack extra clothes for your camper; bring these on Monday and we will keep for the week, then return on Friday at Check-Out.
Keep up with the day on social

Pick-Up
Dismissal is at 3:00pm. Please come to the front of Westlawn School for Check-Out. If you or another parent are not picking up your camper, please let us know prior to pick-up.
Counselors
All counselors receive training prior to the start of camp. Many are very experienced and Westlawn teachers. Be assured of their competence, care, and collaboration with you and amongst themselves.

How old does my child need to be to attend Camp Kooka-Racha?
We accept rising Kindergarteners through 8th Graders.
What is the cost for one session of camp?
$365 per session
What days is camp? How long will my child be at camp each day?
Each week lasts Monday through Friday. Camp starts promptly at 9:00 am and students are picked up at 3:00 pm
Is there any option for extended care for my child?
Yes, we can provide before care and/or after care options at an additional cost. Please contact us for more details.
Will there be a way for me to see what my child has done during their time at camp?
Yes, there will be a Science Fair Exhibition at the end of each session, showcasing each camper’s work.
Can my child attend more than one week?
Yes! In fact we have several campers that attend every week of camp. You can indicate on your registration form which week(s) you’re interested in.
Do I have to be a student at Westlawn to attend CKR?
Nope, we are happy to have everyone attend camp! We encourage those who love hands-on creative and immersive experiences to attend Camp Kooka-Racha. This is an all-inclusive program for all abilities and all schools!

REGISTRATION PROCESS
Registration & Enrollment
Camp registration is simple and designed to make signing up easy for families. We encourage you to complete your camper’s registration early, as spaces fill quickly. Once registered, you will receive confirmation and additional details to help you prepare for an exciting summer at Camp Kooka Racha.

Complete Registration Form
Complete registration form and pay deposit via form. Please complete ONE form for ALL campers and ALL camp sessions.

Deposit Deducted
Once we process your registration, your deposit is deducted from the camp session total and is non-refundable. If there are no more spots, email ckr@westlawnschool.org

Recieve and Pay Invoice
An invoice will be sent to the email you provide for the remaining balance.

Email Confirmation
Once you pay your invoice, the camp director will contact you via email to confirm your dates, campers, and request any additional information to help your camper have the most successful week.
