Admissions

A Better Path
Many highly creative, eager gifted students struggle to thrive in a traditional school setting. Some lose their confidence, their sense of purpose and finally, their will to try. Twice-exceptional students experience similar challenges. Whether they are impacted by a specific learning disability, poor executive functioning, slow processing speed, ASD, anxiety, or even intense stubbornness to “do things their way,” they are stuck.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH
Why Apply to Westlawn
Our unique approach of ability, multi-sensory based, socratic method classes, small class size, and social and emotional support allows students to take risks and thrive in ways they have not been able to in their previous school environments. In addition, attending a school with students like themselves provides a space for students to find friends, practice social skills with a forgiving student body, and learn to appreciate and accept the quirks of others.
We know the school selection process is unique and deeply personal. So our admission process is designed to help you decide if Westlawn School is the right fit for your child.
We have a rolling admissions process, meaning we review applications year-round as they are submitted.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS
How to Apply
We invite parents and caregivers to schedule a tour of our campus to learn more about Westlawn School. Student visits are arranged separately as part of the admissions process. To schedule a tour, please email admin@westlawnschool.org or call 336-937-6088.
1
Application & Records
Submit an application for your child through FACTS, along with a non-refundable $200 application fee. Families may apply at any time, as Westlawn School follows a rolling admissions process.
Applicants who have previously attended another school must submit a Request for Records to their current school and all prior schools. Copies of psychoeducational evaluations and documentation of support services should also be provided. Official student records and transcripts must be sent directly from the child’s school(s) to the Westlawn Office prior to the admissions deadline.
2
Immersive Visit
A child immersive visit is required for all applicants. Students spend approximately one hour immersed in our academic setting and an additional 30-60 minutes socializing during lunch or recess. During this time, parents meet with the Head of School and tour the campus. Given the nature of the visit, this portion of the day is an adults-only session.
3
Admissions Decision
Admissions decisions are communicated to families within two weeks of the completed immersive visit. If offered enrollment, families must submit the Enrollment Contract along with a $2,000 non-refundable deposit, which is credited toward tuition, by the date specified in the contract to secure their child’s place.
We take a deliberate and thoughtful approach to enrollment decisions, carefully considering all information gathered throughout the admissions process.
TUITION & FINANCIAL AID
A Westlawn School Education Is a True Investment in Your Child’s Future
We recognize that this quality of education and support is inherently expensive and can be prohibitive for many families. We are committed to supporting families as they navigate assistance options.
